We publish a quarterly print Farm for Life Newsletter devoted principally to developments concerning the National Animal Identification System (NAIS) on the federal and state levels. The newsletter offers different and sometimes more detailed and extensive treatment of issues than the materials we make available online in the form of articles or commentaries. The newsletter is also published as a service to those who do not have internet access.

Representative subjects covered in past newsletters include:

• USDA grants of government funding to assist corporate interests in promoting NAIS
• The divisions among members of the National Farmers Union about whether to oppose NAIS
• The July 2007 Government Accountability Office report on NAIS

If you would like to see an example of the coverage of issues in the newsletter, please read our Issue 5 article demonstrating how USDA over time will require the use of NAIS identification in all its programs (despite continuing to claim that NAIS is "voluntary").
